Capt. Dave Monti is a fish policy advocate who often speaks about fish and habitat conservation and how to keep the fishing laws in this nation strong so there are more fish in the water for all of us to catch, release, and/or eat.
He is a regular contributor to the Marine Fish Conservation Network blog and other conservation blogs writing about fishing regulation, climate change and its impact on fish, and ocean wind farms. He writes a weekly fishing column that appears is the Providence Journal and 11 other publications and blogs.
Monti is often guest speaker at fishing clubs and conducts Abundant Fisheries Workshops for anglers and industry professionals. The goal of workshops is education and angler input, encouraging them to engage in fisheries management and policy. Participants are empowered to share what they have learned with others with such tools a policy alert bulletins, education materials, presentations and trips to Washington, DC to meet senators and representatives advocating for conservation, fish and habitat.
